mmmmmmmm, LAT is yummy goodness. i'll have to dig up the link when i get home,
but in a nutshell, LAT is a lightweight protocol designed by DEC. it's sole
purpose is to exist outside of all other protocol "suites" like DECnet and IP
so that it did not rely on them. this in turn made it very small and very easy
to implement in something limited like a terminal server. it's a fabulous
protocol that does many wonderful things. i'll post a link of a very good
description of it when i get home if no-one else expands on this first. (i'll
probably post the link anyway, what the hell, why not)
