That's a real crummy SMPS at 50%!  I'd expect more like 65% for a cheapo,
and 70% or better for a quality supply.

Unit confusion: 3 kVA != 3kVAh.

For example, the 2kVA Powerware I snagged recently has 4 internal
batteries, each 12V, 9Ah.  That's only 432 VAh, or about 5 minutes of
runtime at max load.
