I don't now how in Solaris, but you can do it under both AIX and Linux.
I'm sure there's a way. 

Thing is, at least in Linux, it's a bit dangerous. In the words of the
author of the utility "Please be aware that this program makes important
and non-trivial changes to the kernel runtime configuration. It is
possible for the kernel to crash or corrupt data, when using this tool."
I've done it repeatedly, though, and never had a problem. The utility is
called scsiadd, and works wonderfully.

On AIX it's perfectly safe, just use smitty.
