The only OpenGL I've done is the xscreensaver stuff; I've been doing a lot
of AVI-to-MPEG encoding, but thats just raw cpu use.

You gotta pay at least $1K more to get good fast video on a SB100 (mine has
Expert3D-Lite).  I like mine, but wish I had an O2 as well.
