[rescue] AViiON 530 Mouse

Hello:

I hope someone can help.  I am looking for a mouse that is compatible
with a Data General AViiON 530 workstation.  The workstation has a 8 pin
mini-din connector, just like a Sun mouse, but the pinout is different
from the Sun.  I searched various documentation and concluded that it
could use a serial mouse with an appropriate adapter.  I built an
adapter from a serial DB9 shell to a minidin 8 connector, but no joy. 
Does anyone have a suitable mouse or know how to adapt a more available
mouse for use with an AViiON 530?
