Bill has gone on record as saying windows XP was
"pretty stable" (may not be a direct quote, but
close)...

I believe he took part (though hi s employer) in the
beta/pre-release activity...

He wouldn't mind it (of course, you are assuming he
has "appropriate" hardware at home to run WinXP, I
think bill has a very small amount of x86 hardware in
his house...
