[SunRescue] My darn Axil 245... (again) - 72 Pin Memory FS/FT

Ok, I've gone over this before, but I am running out of machines to
"rescue," so I'm back to this unit.

The problems are:

    1)    The memroy configuration is *odd*/not-understood by me

    2)    The System will not boot off an external CD-ROM (512 Byte sector)

I'd like to attack the first problem first.

It was proposed earlier that this system (a "swelled-up" lunchbox
form-factor ss/5) will take 8, 16, and 32 Meg DIMMs, 72 pin, parity. Fine.

It was also suggested that the memory must be 36 bit parity, not 33 bit
(like most suns prefer),
fine.

Here is what doesn't work:

    Sun barcode 501-1822 - I've got three I can't use - 80/70 ns, 33 bit (33
chips)

    Sun barcode 501-2059 - I've got 4 - 60 ns, assumed 33 bit (8 + 1 chips)

    Generic 33 chip, 60 ns (assumed 16 meg) SIMM (I've got one)

    Generic 33 chip, 80 ns (assumed 16 meg) SIMM (I've got one)

Here's what does work:

    Kingston 36x4 Meg SIMM 60 ns (I've got 3)

    Generic 36x2 Meg SIMM 60 ns (I've got 4)

    NEC 12 chip (assumed 36 bit) 60 ns 16 Meg SIMM (I've got two)

Would anyone like to trade any combination of RAM that doesn't work (LX, IPX
SIMMS) for memory that does work? I'd trade 2 for 1 (I'll trade 2 LX 16 Meg
SIMMs for 1 36x4 Meg 60 ns SIMM).

I'd love to get 3x 16 Meg 72 pin 36 bit 60 ns SIMMs to put 96 Meg in my box.
Well, I'd really love to get some 32 Meg 36 bit 60 ns SIMMs (192 Meg!) but
that seems unlikely without spending real folding money...

Anyone have any RAM they'd be willing to trade? I will ship in advance, if
desired.

If you'd like to buy some of my LX/IPX RAM, let me know off-line with a
reasonable offer - Memory/x sells 16 Meg LX SIMMs for $36/each, 16 Meg IPX
SIMMs for $15/each. I'd sell the above memory for $21/each LX SIMM, and
$10/each IPX SIMM, plus actual S/H ($3.50 USPS Priority).
