Even if you are using NIS/NIS+, turn off the caching for hosts, groups,
and passwd.  I've heard reports that not having nscd running can cause
problems for you, even without NIS/NIS+.

The biggest problem with nscd's caching isn't the positive caching,
it's the negative caching.
