My Techs tell me that the

"S" simply denotes a product which was
remanufactured by SUN.

Subject: [SunRescue] "S501-xxxx" part number

All,

Recently got handed an MBus processor, with a Sun barcode part number of
"S501-2754".

501-2754 is an SM-51, and this sure looks like an SM-51. So- what's with the
"S" in front of the part number?

This supposedly came out of a machine that was in a telco environment, with
a "weird power supply" (I'm assuming 48v). But the MB looked like a generic
SS10 MB.

Any reason to assume this couldn't just pop into a regular MBus box with no
problems?

Steve
