I did a chess set on some "hobbyist"  combo lathe/mill (as in it only had a
5" radius and a 1/2" mandrel) when I was in high school. The only interface
it had as a custom card for an Older mac, and you had to input the g-codes
by hand as the machine was running... great fun

Ah, aren't those great? We've got a Roland CAMM-3 where I work that
I'm allowed to use after hours... (That's a super-dinky machine, but
for brass work it's fine.)
