It looks as I was right when I did some sums a bit ago and worked out
that even though we could triple our combined income by moving to London,
we would not actually be any better off...

That's why I like living and working in Mid Wales, with my drive  along
quiet main roads surrounded by wooded hills to the office in the stables
of a large hall with 30 or so acres of gardens and lakeland which is open
to the public in the summer (but free to us) :))
