USB is great for stuff like scanners, etc.  I dont have to dick with SCSI
on my Windows machines, and it lets me do other stuff at the same time
(like watch CNN Headline News in closed-captioned mode on my TV card and
play MP3s in winamp), unlike a parallel scanner.
