The rack is definitely worth more than the guts. The server is a <$100 item
(unless you are dealing with a reseller <grin>) and the disk racks are even
less.

For example, a local scrappers surplus shop has the same drive racks full of
2 gig disks at $100 each, and they've been sitting there a while.  .  .

Now, if someone bought this for the rack, I'd pay for shipping to get the
guts because I can always use Compaq parts, but don't think you'll recoup
the cost of the rack from what's inside.

that is one fine cabinet.  don't know what the array or the machine are
worth
(probably nothing to me anyway) so i don't know how much anyone would be
able
to recoupe from that, but....  if it wasn't so damn much money, and me being
laid off and not having any money.  grrrr.
