[SunRescue] OT: AS/400 stuff

S/390 is *POSIX* compliant - this is to enable IBM to sell lots of
mainframes into the US govenrment, which requires all their machines to be
POSIX compliant. THat is why WinNT is POSIX compliant as well.

POSIX <> Unix - not even close.

There once was a time whrn the Government decreed that all the computers
they buy will be ASCII-based, and IBM had the might to say "no, we think
EBCIDC (sp?) is better" and won, the government kept buying IBM mainframes
that were not ASCII compliant.

I have never heard of a mainframe application that exploited POSIX library.
