[rescue] RAID (was Re: Insane drives)

I have a friend with an SSA. I do all the sysadmin stuff on his machines, and to
me it looks like it's just a drive case that holds 30 drives. Am I missing
something, is there a hardware raid controller in there that needs to be turned
on, or is it's raid stuff all done in software on the host machine? Is the 110mhz
microsparc just to control the FC interfaces? I'm kind of confused on this.
