Hi.
Once again I can use some help. I got a few SS5's, and I'm in the
process of installing drives/memory/OSes on them. When I tried to
install over the net (by doing a 'boot net') like I did on some other
machines (after setting up the install server via the
'add_install_client' script on the Sol8 disc a couple of weird things
happen. When I type boot net I get a few lines of gibberish, then a
message about using boot sd() or st(0) or le(). so when I try typing
boot le(0) I then get a message that those syntax's are no longer used,
and to use 'boot disk / boot tape / boot net' as the replacements. So
then I type 'boot net' and it appears to start, then I get a message
something to the effect of 'can't mount image' and the machine panics.
this has happened on 2 machines so far, both with nvram version 2.15
(one says 2.15 Pilot). Also, on the machine that's 2.15 Pilot it says
that the IDPROM's contents are invalid, but yet it does show the
machine's hostid, and ethernet address? Am I missing something here?
