Good Afternoon!
A small update on my first box.
I noticed last night that when I turned it on that the Powersupply fan was
dead. So thinking back I remembered I had an old External 60MB SCSI tape Drive
with enclosure that used the same size fan.
so I canabialized the drive and replaced the fan.
Thanks to all for the links, I now know more than I would have ever figured was
possible about the IPX :-)
I also found a Mac Serial cable, now I just have to scavenge a 25 to 9 pin
converter so I can hook it up to either my laptop or my Linux box.
Several people mailed me about what OS to use on the box.
My background (I'm a programmer for a mid-sized consulting company) is mainly
Windows, AIX and Linux with a bare minimum of Xenix thrown in for measure.
With that in mind, would it be good to leave/Put Solaris on the box?
My intent is to both learn a bit more and use the box as a tiny Web/Samba
Server if possible.
Any thoughts?
Christopher
