[SunRescue] Solaris 8 install on Ultra5 problems

I've been trying to install Solaris 8 on this Ultra 5 for a while now,
but I can't seem to get it to boot the install cdrom. I have two
different sets of media, a 6/00 and a 10/00 set, but neither works. I
have installed a stack of other machines with the same disks, since I
have tried with the ultra5. Solaris 2.7 disks work/install just fine,
and I installed slackware-sparc from cd as well with out a hitch.

I belive this is an early model ultra 5, because of the 2mb vram and
really old looking cdrom. Am I doing something wrong here? Do I need to
upgrade something? Please help, slackware is nice, but it runs so damn
slow on this sparc, I really would like to put solaris on here.

Also, I have a SunSwift pci scsi+10/100 nic card in it, with an external
cd and hd. If I could use these instead of the internal IDE gear, that
would be even better.
