Want, or have to use? There's a difference. Whatever you may think of
overpriced Adaptecs, I happen to have a 2940UW2 LVD/SE card and a couple
of LVD drives sitting here, and would love to have their 80Mb/s transfer
rate rather than the 40Mb/s I'll get using those same drives with the
SYmbios card. If the Adaptec just plain won't work, that's
understandable, but I'd like to use the best I've got if it'll do the
job. Yes?

Yeah, I have some. Well, the same guy I got the U/10 from does, and I
can have one for the asking (actually I'll trade him an Adaptec 2940UW
for it, but it's all the same to me if there's no cash changing hands).
But I have to ask again...
Will the Adaptec work, or not?

Because they just plain work in peecee hardware, no matter what. What I
don't know is if they work in Sun hardware.
