I agree with James - if you can find one cheap enough, a better single
processor (SM61 or better) is the most cost-effective upgrade for an SS/10.
Do not put more than $100 into the box (except for Ultra-grade RAM), as that
is money you will never get back.
Ultra 1's are very reasonable currently (very reasonable systems can easily
be found for $500, incl. a good amount of RAM (> 128 Meg)), and Ultra 2s are
also quite reasonable (I have an Ultra 2 w/dual 200 MHz CPUs, 256 Meg RAM
for $1K, and another with dual 300 MHz CPUs and 256 Meg RAM for $1350 - both
shipped, Con. US).
An SS/10 is a useful machine, and will be for a long time - but it is not
worth investing any serious (greater than $100) in it.
