I've noticed a few things about cats. First, if you have a carpeted floor
and put a single piece of paper on the floor, the paper is where they will
lay. Second, if you buy the furniture (or build it for them) they will
ignore it. The new sofa is prime real estate though, and if you put a
piece of paper on the sofa, that is where they will lie (unless they think
you want them to). Third, furniture disguised as a toy (say a ball on a
string on a pole) will be ignored. Small bouncy toys with bells seem to
be the only thing that can be bought for cats that they will use.
Otherwise, they prefer to play with non-toys.
I love cats.
