OS media for that will only be another $100 or so off of ebay if you want
6.5. If you want to stick with 6.2, then the media seems to somewhat
cheaper. A proper OS license is $600 I believe (that's what my school paid
to upgrade their O2 to 6.5).

That should be a fairly nice box. It doesn't do texturing, but how much
of a limitation is that anyway. If you do want texturing, High Impact
upgrades are fairly cheap. As a bonus, you can keep the SI board in for
dual head operation to my understanding.

I think the CPU should be good enough, but to be honest, I've never used
an r4.4k machine. I've used r4.6k machines (similar to r4.4, but
supposedly much worse performance), an r5k machine, and several r10k
machines. All of them were comfterble to work on if they had at least 128
megs of ram.

Have fun with the new toy.
