[SunRescue] HELP!!! My /opt slice just died!

Thanks!

I do have a question though - you said a random base-2 number (64, 128,
etc.) but the newfs -Nv came up with numbers listed as super-block backups
at 32, 97376, 194720, etc. in that exact order. Does this mean that my slice
is slightly different and I should use those numbers? (32 does not work
BTW.)

(A slightly calmer)

Hey dude, it isn't the end of the world:

# fsck -F ufs -o b=(random base-2 number) -y /dev/rdsk/c0t1d0s3

Simply put, the base superblock died. Good thing UFS provides for
backups.

Try these numbers:

32, 64, 128, 32768, 65536, etc....
