Sun also includes drivers for ES1370/1371 based PCI audio cards in Solaris
7 and up (the "audioens" driver).  Early support was poor but the latest
drivers in Solaris 8 seem to be relatively solid.

I know that the Soundblaster PCI64 works, and I suspect that the AudioPCI
may also work with recent drivers.  These should be available for under
$30.
