[SunRescue] sparcbook heat concerns

I stopped running setiathome on mine, because the constant CPU activity when
it was running would make it too hot to touch on the bottom of the case.
Apparently compiles and other CPU intensive stuff never let the CPU
powersaving mode kick in, and it does a great job as a heater <grin>.

The extra work units weren't worth the possibility of heat related failure
to me. . .

Subject: [SunRescue] sparcbook heat concerns

i picked up a sparcbook 3gx on the cheap this weekend. it's sitting on my
desk
next to me compiling some stuff and i can feel heat radiating from the
keyboard.

i read some comments in the sparcbook FAQs about these things overheating,
but
i couldn't find anything definitive. at what point do i need to start
worrying
about components failing due to excessive heat?

i know this isn't the right list, but i'm lazy :)
