PCI bus, but if you're going to use one for any real hardcore SERIOUS work,
get one of the $60 SCSI cards and use SCSI drives and cdrom. I've got an
8.4gig IDE drive in my system here, but all I use this box for mostly is
a remote terminal to the sunhelp.org/mrbill.net machine (an U1/140E) and
something to run Netscape and work with GIMP and MySQL on.

I've got an U1/200E at work, and its just about the same speed as the U5/270
(due to the difference in cache sizes), but it *feels* so much more solid.
Of course, the U1 has a Creator3D, while I have a sucky PGX32.

James, why doesent Sun support the Creator in an Ultra5?

Bill
