WRONG. I was running SDT on a paltry IPC (SunOS4) in my real-time 
system laborations (model railroad control sw.)

The host was one of thoose IPCes

STD = SDL IDE tool. Pretty impressive.

It worked okay even when the school changed to Solaris 2.
