Hi,

I have a SUN IPC too - as well from eBay. I do have a Type 5
keyboard and an optical mouse (without the necessary pad). I
am not writing because I want to sell these (would be difficult
from germany, anyway) but because I have serious troubles
getting it to work. Maybe you can, and want to, help me.

My IPC came with the Weitek-Chip in it, a second Frame Buffer,
an ISDN-card and a 2GB IBM-SCSI HDD. When I turned it on the
first time, with everything plugged in, the HDD started, the
SUN beeped one time and all the Keyboard-LEDs blinkt one time.
Then, after a short while, the LEDs blinked once more all at
the same time and that was it. No information on screen or any
other response.

I started asking around a bit and came over a HowTo describing
how ro connect a SUN over the serial port A with the serial port
of a PC. I organized a cable which has the appropriate connectors
for MINI-DIN and SER232c and followed the instructions but again
I was not successfull, meaning I didn't get any response from the
SUN on my terminal-program.

Now I don't know what to do nor do I know what else may be wrong.

If you have any idea, what else I can try, please mail me. I'd
really like to get this SUN working because if not, I have two
SUN 16" SONY-Monitors, as well as the SUN itself lying around
my homeplace.

Anybody have a spare keyboard and mouse that will work on a Sun Sparc IPC?
I couldnt resist buying a couple of these off of e-bay, but of course they
didnt come with the necessities. If they were in the Madison, Wisconsin area
I would come pick them up, but will happily pay UPS to bring them to me.

Is there an adapter around that will let me use a ps/2 mouse and keyboard
with these?
