Not really a rescue, per se, but an opportunity. . .

The surplus warehouse/store for Lockheed Martin/Unisys/Loral here in
Mpls.-St. Paul has a large number (couple of dozen) Sun 1962B monitors for
$50.00 each. I'll bet they'll go cheaper in quantity <grin>. They also have
some Sparc 2's and IPX's (20 or so), though unfortunately most are missing
NVRAM's for "security reasons", though they do have varying amounts of RAM
and disk. Not sure of the price on these, but definitely sub $100 and again,
probably cheaper in quantity. They occasionally have LX's and SS10's, but
the "good stuff" hasn't really started filtering out, yet.

They also have a smattering of Sun 1662B's, and some HP 700 series
workstations with A0xxxx monitors. This all along with a lot of PC stuff,
old Unisys mainframes, weird testing gear and God knows what else. <grin>

If you're local to the area, it can provide some good deals. I don't believe
they ship, but they are a warehouse and have trucks coming in and out all
the time; you could call and check. The number there is 651-452-3447. If you
are in the Twin Cities, they can give you directions. Tell 'em Steve sent
ya! <grin>
