Today I went by a small "junk yard" near work, to see if there has been
some dumping activity since last time I've checked. Guess what, I looked
into the dumpster and found lots and lots and lots of 72p parity SIMMs.
"awesome" was my first thought, but it suddenly went into almost a cry
when I discovered that SOMEONE have had a great time BREAKING every SIMM
into two pieces! everyone of them!
I mean.. heh, how could someone be so incredibly stupid and silly, to
come up with such an idea that "if these things are going away, we must
spend some time breaking all the equipment instead of doing our job"!
Why can't everyone think atleast twice before they do such a cruel act
as breaking fully functional 8MB, 16MB and 32MB SIMMs, just because
their "oh so new and shiny might P-III 600MHz" can't run them?
Sometimes I just feel I want to smash someones face out just because of
this.
They don't see the value in old equipment! "It's probably useful, but
who cares? it's old?"
geez...
I know their opinion about old things. Even if I came there, offering to
BUY their stuff, they wouldn't care. They don't even care about paying
twice the price for a new top-of-the-line PC, just because someone got
their attention first.
just my $0.20 to anyone junking equipment.
