Unless you're doing some fancy dynamic content and have a very
high-bandwidth connection, or there will be other heavy demands on
the server, what you have is not only adequate but vastly overpowered.
When the Sun Hardware Reference had its own web site, it lived on a
Sun 2/120, and that machine was mostly idle. It could probably have
served 10,000 hits a day without any great difficulty as long as they
were reasonably spread out. I'm not sure how well it would have done at
rapid-fire small hits, but when you're behind a low-bandwidth connection
(like 64 or 128kbits), the link is likely to get congested and slow the
hits down to a more reasonable pace before the machine gets too
overburdened. For larger files, that machine could easily spit out 40 or
50K per second on the LAN, far faster than the outbound link could hope to
keep up with.
