Isn't there a SCSI fuse on that era of board- one of those little clear
topped round ones that stick in sideways and that're almost impossible to
see if they're blown or not? <grin>.

I don't know if that fuse would cover whatever circuit you might have blown,
but those fuses are all over those old VME boards (and the lunchboxes) so
you might try scavenging one from another board and replacing it and see if
that helps.

If you are not sure where the fuse is located on the board, I can check my
FEH when I get home. IIRC, there are two of these fuses close together, one
for Ethernet and one for SCSI. Let me know if you need a location reference.

Steve

This weekend, I was playing with my 4/110 vme crate (the least of the
ancient Sparcs), and had it running fine on OpenBSD, then did a dumb
stunt.... tried to hook up a 525mb tape drive (which had something set
wrong and probably put terminator power onto the bus). Alas, my musty,
dusty, rusty ol' 4/110 cpu blew its scsi port. It was the first Sun
board of any kind I have ever blown, oh well. Anyone know if something
like that is fixable? Anyone know if terminator power is the probable
cause of blowing it up? I had a 250mb tape without terminator power
capability, and it ran OK. The 525mb drive had the terminator capability,
and .... poof. I thought open the jumper to remove terminator power,
but I guess that was upside down....

Anyone know of a singleboard vme cpu with built-in scsi of the
early sparc class that is up for grabs?

If not, can anyone suggest what to stuff a 3-slot box with, and where one
might fine such a critter?

The last option might be to stuff a 3/160 cpu board and sun2 controller
into it, for one last gasp, watering it down to a 3/60 sort of status.

Any suggestions for the beerdrinkers budget or less are appreciated.....

Thanks

Bob
