  The only thing that makes a sun4/6x0 a sun4/6x0 is the cpu board.
The chassis type determines the middle digit of the model number.
Though sun (to my knowledge) never sold a 4/600 processor board in a
x10-style case (like the 3/110 and 4/110 came in), many people have
assembled systems in those chassis, thus "creating" model numbers that
were never actually sold by Sun.  The 4/600 machine in the below
mentioned eBay auction is built into an x10 (like sun4/110, 3/110,
etc) chassis.

  My favorite instance of this came while starting what became a
major ISP several years ago.  We were broke, and those 12-slot
rackmount (x80-series) cube chassis were waaaaay expensive (around
1993)...but we had a surplus of the rollaround pedestal (x60-series,
like 3/260, 4/260) boxes...

  I'm sure you can see what's coming.  The 12-slot grey boxes hadn't
come out into the used market yet (they became the x70 series)...so we
made "our own" "Sun4/270" machine.  Take a rollaround pedestal
chassis, take the wheels off, and set it on a wooden shelf in a rack.
