I thought of that, but I have never had much luck extracting contacts
from a 0.1" header socket.  if the micro screwdriver or needle or
whatever is strong enough to retract the grippers it is big enough to
get in the way. Of course, if you break them, you can always use jumpers
:-) If it were my macine and I actually cared enough I would probably
cut wires, I'm pretty neat with solder and shrink tube, but I can never
succesfully extract those little contacts.  you know, they are the same
size as the internal CD drive audio cable, and I always manage to break
those.
