[geeks] Testing E10k RAM

Greetings;

In the process of bringing up an E10k I keep striking DIMMs that are bad.
I could spend a day sitting in front of it, powering node boards up and
done and constantly re-POSTing the machine to identify more bad sticks,
but this seems fraught with danger of releasing the blue smoke from DC
components.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a safer, and hopefully
more convenient way, of testing the DIMMs. I had read that an IBM
Netfinity used similar enough memory that it should work - and I have a
Netfinity 7000 with a 16 slot board that would've made this quite
convenient with memtest86+, but alas, the Netfinity is wise to my scheme
and tells me the DIMMs are out of spec and refuses to bring them up.

It's also been suggested I use a RAM tester which I might purchase from
eBay - but I'm a bit leery of spending $50-$100 on a RAM tester that might
not work with this RAM for some daffy reason and getting stuck with a
useless device.

Opinions and suggestions are very welcome;

Fine day to you all.

  - JP
