Yep, but those adapters do work well.  I have an Acard U160 (ARS-2160) SCA
adapter, and I can confirm that it adds very little overhead.  I have been
running my SGI Fuel on 2.5" SSDs, based on these, and boy does it make a
huge difference.

The only issue is that these adapters aren't necessarily cheap, as you can
see.  I've occasionally found deals, and I paid ~$100 for mine, a few years
ago.
