In case you've never had the pleasure of meeting a POWER5+ machine:

I'm astounded at the amount of effort IBM went to in turning what is
basically a 4U server into a workstation. The side door is 2-inches
thick and lined with foam and the rear has a cover that fits over it
with another 2 inches of foam. All-in-all it means that with the
front panel door closed it's quiet enough to be a very pleasant
workstation.

Mark me as very impressed, but then it's an IBM - I'm rarely *not*
impressed by their gear.
