Prices do vary a lot.  For instance, the Kingston 4GB (2 x 2GB) kit
KTM2865/4G sells for the following range of prices on Amazon.com through
various resellers:

12 new from $38.00
2 used from $38.94
1 refurbished from $129.43

Not much rhyme nor reason to that.
