My LTO2 drive started throwing firmware errors recently (naturally, at
the most inconvenient possible time). I've been pondering at what point
I can shoehorn a new drive into the budget, and whether to see if I can
get my hands on a SAS LTO3 drive, which would actually simplify my life
in a number of ways as well as giving me better throughput. My only
concern there is whether my server can actually supply data fast enough
to keep an LTO3 streaming.
