I think I can answer that. India's economy is booming, and call center jobs
in India (and Pakistan) go to people who have decent voices, can read, but
not any analytical or problem solving skills. They pay around $12 a day,
and anyone with those skills gets a job in which they do something more
than just read a script they don't understand to people who spend more on
coffee per day than they make in one.

EU residents, just out of college or national service love these jobs. They
get free room, board, laundry, and can party an entire night on $2 worth of
beer and generic viagra.
