Seriously? Mr. Bill will successfully petition Mr. Ellison to do something
against (what Mr. Ellison apparently believes is) his best interests?

The only pitch that would be successful, IMHO, would be one that parallels
IBM's 'Mainframes in Education,' designed to help seed the job market with
future workers familiar with/open to mainframe technology, but first the pool
of available Solaris admins/programmers needs to shrink to the point that they
are hard to find and expensive when you do find one...

I think that's a few years off.
