[geeks] Introductory programming language?

ksh?  pdksh comes with sfu, and research.att.com has precompiled ksh93
[and a pile o' other stuff] for windows.  it's often overlooked, but
you can do a lot of programming in ksh.  i may be biased though - i've
been using it since ksh86 was new.

the awk with sfu is probably better than a windows-only version.
