Thanks to US tax regulations, keeping non-profit status is easily a
full-time job.  Unless you have the time (you want) to burn or an
accountant in your back pocket, it's actually cheaper and less hassle to
run it as a hobby.

It'd make more sense to fold the sunhelp stuff into any other consulting
work and write it off as advertising expense[0] and professional skills
development, but that also requires a competent accountant to walk the
line so that it doesn't seem like an abusive tax shelter.  Done properly,
the tax benefits could make sunhelp pay for itself.


[0] Not tongue-in-cheek at all.
