Initially, I didn't know what the IMMR was beyond "SPR 638" and the
reference in the 850um_2.pdf calling it "Internal Memory Map Register".

Now that you and others have said what you said and assorted variations
on it, the remaining problem is that I don't know what the chip I'm
dealing with has for "internal memory mapped registers" - that is, if
the IMMR is (say) 0x01230000, what's in the space at 0x01230000?
Presumably this will depend on exactly which chip I'm dealing with; I
really hope the indications I found that this hardware uses an
850-cored chip are accurate.  Maybe I should open it up again for
another look inside....
