I've yet to see it run -well- on any platform.  I've tried it off-and-on
since 2001 or so running on both FreeBSD and Debian Linux.

My requirements are simple:

         * Be fast
         * Be Unix-like
         * Get out of my way
         * Don't be Linux

OpenBSD and FreeBSD tend to fill the role rather nicely for me where OS X
won't go.
