[geeks] Floppy? What floppy?

Has anyone else run into a situation in which Windows (2K pro, in this
case) apparently simply *disbelieves in* an apparently perfectly
functional floppy drive?  It detects it as a new device if uninstalled,
installs a driver, swears it's working perfectly, but when you try to
access it (either via GUI or CLI), it swears no such drive exists.
