[geeks] sun gcc and studio 12 on s8?

setting up a compile machine for solaris 8.

saw the d/l pgs - neither say how far back they support.  anyone here
know?  i'd like to switch to sun-supported gcc from sunfreeware, on
the theory that my usual patch check routine would keep it up to
date...
