I tried to not look directly into the port, but indirectly verify that
there was no light. My remaining eye seems to be ok. :)
Well, this was working fine for three years until 6:45 AM yesterday
morning. Nothing else happened on the server at that time. It's a
windows server, so probe-scsi-all doesn't get me anywhere, but i tried
poking at it in a few directions with SANsurfer. As far as it is
concerned, the HBA is fine, but the loop is down. That led me to
believe that it might just be the GBIC, but i can't easily pull out the
GBIC with it mounted in the rack, so this will probably have to wait
until the evening when i can pull out the HBA.
