Interesting; something similar happened to mine.  I got one battery
out, but the other one I think I'd have to open the case to get out.

I got the UPS at a liquidation sale from a failed company.  Based on
your experience, do you think there's any real chance the maker would
be interested in talking to me?  (It's not APC; it's TrippLite.)
