Actually, my Fujitsu 10K rpm drives are cooler than most of my SATA
drives.
They have far better heatsinks for one thing.

I don't know... I find that the WD and Seagate drives I have right now
will go over 50C in still air.
Get air moving by and they drop to 30-40C, depending on airflow.
Put a really good fan on them, and it drops even further, but usually
that doesn't help too much and it is noisy and difficult.
Even a small amount of airflow makes a big difference.
